d'Holbach, Baron-

"Man's life is a line that nature commands him to describe upon the surface of the earth,
without his ever being able to swerve from it, even for an instant ...
Nevertheless, in spite of the shackles by which he is bound,
it is pretended he is a free agent ..."

Okay now imagine about five hundred quotes like that, full of life philosophy metaphorical metaphysical ethical shit, and all smooshed up against each other in the crevices of my brain at the moment. Who's not to say that, in one of my three essays I'm going to mix and match Plato with Nagel or even worse- Kant and Mills.
